The Thoughts of Black Men, Inc. is a national family outreach, support, uplift and crisis mitigation organization.
The Thoughts of Black Men Executive Summary Statement.
We live in the wealthiest country in the world. Not only do we have the world’s leading economy but we are the world’s military superpower with the people, lifestyles, and societal norms. But, just beneath the surface there exists a plurality of societal problems that threaten to fracture the very fabric of our existence: Deeply entrenched pre-Colonial Classism, Separatism, it is a tradition of division that has caused separation within the family structure leading to teen pregnancy, abandonment of children and high rates of crime and incarceration nationwide.
How can anyone justify the inherently suicidal mis-education of our collective futures- the youth. Especially, the vast majority of those children of color, particularly African American who have it the worst of any other ethnic or socio-economic group-bar none.
TBM helps solve these issues by supporting and partnering with other organizations like “Midnight Basketball Assoc”, Cease Fire, Day Top Children’s Facilities,100 Black Men, Boys & Girls Club – and Down to Earth. These organizations provide crime prevention programs and activities as a safety net for children by keeping them off the dangerous street environments while providing them with mentoring, referrals, education , athletics and other activities under professionally supervised settings to break the cycle of gang related violence these young people are exposed to daily.

TBM has built a safe haven that is designed for the purpose of exposing, sharing and renewing wisdom, understanding and life changing thoughts. We relay to one another the knowledge and information needed to pursue the advancement of noble human endeavors.
The Thoughts Of Black Men wish to contribute our knowledge base to all irrespective of Sex, Religion, Nation of Origin, Color, Creed, Political Affiliation or Financial Status. We accomplish these goals through a proactive exchange of illuminating ideas by ways of sharing of professional skills, life coping skills and experiences within the framework of a growing intelligent network. We cost effectively utilize every type of established and emerging electronic communications media to assemble ‘grass-roots” support.
Who is The Thoughts Of Black Men?
Thoughts unified in purpose nationwide, as we are an organized group concerned with disseminating factual and potentially life changing information to people of all walks of life. To effectuate better understanding and decision making in a range of ideas. Areas incorporating categories such as Education, Parenting & Family Planning, Career Development, Business & Entrepreneurship, Civics & Life Skills Training and Responsibility just to name a few.
When was The Thoughts Of Black Established?
The Thoughts of Black Men was established in April of 2002; founded by Kevin T. Coston known as “Brother Tee”. The organization was incorporated in July of 2010 as a not-for-profit corporation in the State of New York and registered as: The Thoughts of Black Men, Inc. The Executive Board is currently finalizing the corporation’s IRS code501c (3) Parent Company Tax Exempt Certification of and is currently grandfathered under the 501c(3) of Down to Earth G.S.I. and The Portrait of Empowerment.

Competence- To maintain the highest level of knowledge and skill possible.
Professionalism- To behave with dignity and courtesy while promoting and maintaining a quality public image through the provision of high quality service.
TBM’s Commitment :
To continuously work to break down the often counterproductive circumstances that plague growing disadvantaged American societies. This especially, within African American Communities nationwide. We address and discuss the importance of each individual life illustrating through honest dialogue.
Through the provision of information, supported by professional mentorship from both members as well as guests, representing living testimonials to help re-instill the innate sense of purpose that is the ultimate transcending responsibility to Humanity. Furthermore, we educate by planting the seeds of positive thoughts, to unify people while recovering and discovering lost knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.
Our Mission :
- To form worldwide mentoring alliances for the purpose of facilitating and fostering self-empowerment.
- To help better direct families towards more productive social and socio-economic environments.
- To provide the production and perpetuation of employment opportunities.
- To Foster community & civics affairs involvement with leadership training.
- To facilitate the exploration and implementation of new 21st Century technologies to build economic opportunities, re-train in viable “Green” and growing industries as well as re-educating from dead-end careers that are in decline.
- To increase the availability of drug cessation and rehabilitation programs in the hopes of regaining lost productivity.
The Vision:
To develop and promote honest discourse, lasting cross-cultural respect, and understanding amongst targeted populations, in the hopes of transforming dysfunctional anti-empathetic societal family structures. The Thoughts of Black Men, Inc., in the traditions of stepping-up to pick-up the mantle and raising the banner, giving voice to Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream, making his ideals resonate again for this generation. There may be many hundreds of different countries, thousands of cultures and languages, millions of customs and traditions like it or not, so far as we know, we had better all respect the fact that on Planet Earth there is still one Human Family, only one Human Race!!!
TBM ‘s Goals:
- To bring awareness where it is needed through education and guidance.
- To demonstrate committed support for reaching the lost and rejected members of society through educational programs.
- To create and implement a multi-layered, multi-faceted support system thereby increasing the ability and likelihood of success.
- To provide the aforementioned through the formulation of a nationwide collaborative service model.
TBM’s Collaborative Service Model Objectives:
- To build high quality Chapters & Board of Directors nationwide.
- To get investments to scale our businesses.
- To create a social networking service, with our web service portal by 7 months.
- To convert standard users to paying professional users at a yearly rate of 3%
- To introduce members to a consortium of established business owners in the hopes of creating the necessary channels towards career development and entrepreneurship.
All Thoughts of Black Men Inc- collaborative service model objectives will be met and measured through the use of : seminars, weekend summits, guest speakers and private consultations.

Bringing the Family Together Through Fellowship Activities

This activity helps us get to the heart of issues involving social change. Through the use of a weekly “Conference Call System”. TBM promotes worldwide dialogue on many important subjects helping to build character, while giving structure and positive family values.

This activity is a way that TBM gives an ear to people from all parts of the country. Our guest speakers often offer the opportunity to evaluate our internal challenges, offer solutions to family issues, and is cost effective for those who cannot afford to travel to receive the support needed when sharing new idea’s over vast distances instantly.

The Thoughts of Black Men provides an internet haven that reaches millions. Through the accomplishments of our out- reach via the internet, TBM reaches and recruits “Men” that can explore their differences to know in who they are for the availability of leadership.
